45th Parallel
Cadott, Wisconsin. Population 1,445. Halfway between the equator and the north pole. A giant sign in a nice little park lets all passers-by know just where they are.

A bookend find to my 45th Parallel II (South) find from September 19, 2014.
A version of this was originally published on the now-defunct Findery on July 23, 2014. Findery was something of an Instagram for places, and a site I really enjoyed. It went offline sometime in early 2022. I’ve decided to reproduce a few of my Findery posts for posterity.
Because the Half-way sign at Cadott was a favorite stop for our family on cross-Wisconsin road trips, I recently expanded on the original Findery post for the Wisconsin Explorers Guild.
